Ground AC Load Center More Than 50 ft. (15.2 m)

Mount the single-point ground block to any surface between the media gateways and the
AC load center single-point ground. The single-point ground block must be mounted to a
non-metallic surface.
2 At the bottom rear of the first media gateway, connect a 6 AWG (#40) (16 mm
2
) media
gateway GROUND wire to the media gateway ground block. See ‘‘Typical Media
Gateway Grounding Wiring Diagram’’ on page 77.
3 Route the opposite end of the wire to the single-point ground block and connect.
4 At the next (if provided) DC Power media gateway, connect a 6 AWG (#40) (16 4 mm
2
)
media gateway GROUND wire to the media gateway ground terminal block GROUND
DISCHARGE bar.
5 Route the media gateway GROUND wire to first media gateway and connect to the
single-point ground block and connect block.
NOTE:
If a media gateway is located remotely (in a separate room or building), route the media
gateway media gateway GROUND wire to an approved protective ground.
6 Repeat connecting each media gateway to the single-point ground block.
7 Connect a 6 AWG (#40) (16 mm
2
) ground wire to an unused terminal on the single-point
ground block.
8 Route the ground wire to the AC load center ground and connect.
