5.0 Retrot
5.1 Retrot of MP26 or MP125
Concealed Mounted Alarm Panels
5.1.1 Remove Components from Existing
Alarm
1. Open the old alarm panel to be retrotted and
ensure that the retrot kit to be installed is correct
according to the number of Signal inputs, Relay
outputs, and/or Gas Sensor signals (See Appendix
A).
2. Test Central and Area alarm signals to validate
wiring and document all signal wires coming into
the box with alarm type and locations prior to
disconnecting. This information will be required to
setup the new alarm.
3. Turn o the supply power to the alarm.
4. Disconnect the ribbon cable(s) to the panel door
and remove. Remove Trim Plate.
5. Disconnect all labeled wiring from the PCB and
remove the PCB and all other removable hardware
and spacers.
5.1.2 Install New Components
1. Install the Trim Ring to the concealed backbox
using the previous hinge screws (Figure 5.1).
2. Install the new power supply on the existing top
two studs in the backbox (note the position of the
green terminal block in reference to the Mains
Power).
3. Install additional module on the existing bottom
two studs in the backbox. For MP125, use the
supply adapter bracket to mount the module.
4. Locate the Earth cable from the power supply and
fasten it to the Earth stud on the backbox.
5. Remove the four screws from the power supply
plastic shield and remove the shield.
