Hydraulic Reservoir/Filter
The hydraulic reservoir with
internal lter (located in the
engine compartment) is the
reservoir for both the hydraulic
fan drive system and power
steering system. The dipstick
is located at the top of the
reservoir and is marked for checking the uid
when cold or hot. Use the hot reading when the
oil is at normal operating temperature. Check
the uid level prior to each trip.
The oil level should be kept between the
full and add marks on the dipstick. When
performing uid level checks, inspect ttings
and hoses for signs of leakage. Avoid untimely
and costly failures by having leaks repaired.
Replace the internal lter every 15,000 miles
or once a year. Loosen the band clamp at the
top of the reservoir and remove the lid. Place
a 5 gallon drain bucket under the reservoir.
Loosen one of the bottom ttings to drain the
reservoir. Drain only enough uid from the
reservoir to expose the lter. Tighten tting.
Remove the wing nut, lter spring and lter
washer. Remove and replace the lter. Install the
lter washer and lter spring. Tighten the wing
nut until it reaches the end of the threaded rod.
Install top and band clamp. It is recommended
to install new hydraulic uid. Old uid may
contaminate the hydraulic system. Fill the
reservoir to the full mark and run the engine to
purge trapped air. Check uid level after fteen
minutes of operation to conrm proper level.
AIR FILTER
Changing the Filter
The entire air lter cartridge is discarded
and replaced by loosening the inlet and outlet
ducting clamps and releasing the retaining band
snaps. The air lter is located in the engine
compartment. The Air Filter Minder will
indicate when the lter will need to be changed.
Air Filter Minder
The air lter minder, located in the roadside of
the engine compartment, is a precision overow
restriction gauge designed to take the guesswork
out of air cleaner replacement.
As dirt captured by the lter cartridge slowly
builds up, vacuum between the lter and charge
air cooler increases. The indicator locks at the
point of maximum restriction so readings can be
taken with or without the engine running.
When the desired change-out point is reached,
the air lter should be replaced and the service
indicator reset by pushing the Reset button on
the bottom of the minder.
