2.8.3 DX4010i/DX4010 RPS for Direct
Connection
Close the control panel’s Installer
Switch before using the remote
programming direct connection.
The module allows the user to program the
control panel, perform diagnostic functions, and
retrieve history in RPS by using a direct
connection between the module and the control
panel.
Follow these steps to connect directly to the
control panel for an RPS session:
1. Set the module’s address to Address 0 (zero).
See Figure 46 for correct DIP switch
placement. The DX4010 does not use DIP
Switches 7 and 8.

2. Connect the module to Com Port 1 or 2 (or
an available Com Port) with a null modem
cable on your computer. The module has a
DB9 male serial connector.
3. Connect the module to the control panel:
DX4010i: Use the supplied RJ-16 to molex cable
to connect the DX4010i to the control panel. See
Figure 47.
