What to do if my Calpeda MPS Water Pump motor does not start?

  If your Calpeda Water Pump motor isn't starting, first, check that the mains frequency and voltage match the electrical characteristics on the indicator plate and that the cable cross-section suits the cable length and motor power. Then, ensure the power supply cable is correctly connected to the terminal board. Verify the thermal overload protection is correctly set and that the fuseboard upstream of the motor is properly connected. Also, make sure the pump shaft turns freely. If fuses are blown, replace them after checking the power supply. If the shaft is blocked, remove the blockage.

  If your Calpeda Water Pump isn't pumping water, first, ensure the valves are open and not blocked. Dismantle the check valve on the delivery pipe and release the valve; replace it if needed. Open the suction valve. If the pump suction filter is obstructed, extract the pump, remove and clean the suction filter, and replace it if necessary. If the pump is installed too high, increase its depth of installation. Finally, check that the direction of rotation is correct by inverting the electrical connections from the motor to the power supply terminal.

  If your Calpeda Water Pump is experiencing insufficient flow, ensure that the pipes and accessories are suitable for the specific application and not too small, which can cause excessive head loss. If the dynamic level of the well is excessively low, increase the depth of immersion of the pump as much as possible and reduce the flow by narrowing the suction valve. Check for leaks in the delivery pipe and repair as needed.

  If your Calpeda Water Pump is exhibiting noise and vibrations, check that no solid bodies are obstructing the rotor. Replace worn bearings. Ensure the pump and pipes are firmly attached by anchoring the delivery and suction piping as needed. If the flow is too strong for the delivery pipe, use bigger diameters or reduce the pump flow. Check that the mains voltage is correct.
