6. To position the patient, ask the patient to bite into the bite block (A). Make sure that the patient
places the upper incisors before the incisive stopper (B).
7. Turn the adjustment knob to close the temple supports (C).
8. Use both hands to align the vertical position of the head (D). Ensure that the patient occlusion is
fully horizontal (camper plane) (D

9. Ask the patient to:
• Close the eyes (E).
• Swallow.
• Remain still.
• Breathe through the nose.
• Place the tongue on the palate.
• Stand up straight (do not position the
feet slightly forward).
• Grip both the lower handles of the
head and chin rest.
• Relax and lower the shoulders for full
motion of the unit rotative arm.
