Towing
Safety Rules for Towing
Serious injury or death could result if a disabled machine is towed incorrectly or if there is a
mistake in the selection or inspection of the wire rope. For towing, see “Towing the Machine” in the
OPERATION section.
Always wear leather gloves when handling wire rope.
Fix the wire rope to the frame of the crawler
frame (allow two holes at A for traction)
During the towing operation, never stand
between the towing machine and the machine
being towed.
Never tow a machine on a slope.
Never use a wire rope which has cut strands
(A), reduced diameter (B), or kinks (C). There
is danger that the rope may break during the
towing operation.
Lifting Work
Safety Rules for Lifting Objects
Do not carry out lifting work on slopes, soft ground, or other places where the machine is not
stable.
Use wire rope that conforms to the specified
standard.
Do not exceed the specified lifting load.
For details of the maximum lifting load
permitted for this machine, see “Bucket with
hook”.
It is dangerous if the load hits any worker or
structure. Always check carefully that the
surrounding area is safe before swinging or
turning the machine.
Do not start, swing, or stop the machine
suddenly. There is a hazard that the lifted load
will swing.
Don't use two machines together to lift, it is
very dangerous.
Do not use the work equipment or swing to pull
the load in any direction. There is danger that
the hook may break and the load come off,
causing the work equipment to move suddenly
and cause personal injury.
