Prerequisites of nV Optical System
The following are the requirements and prerequisites for nV optical shelf system configuration:
•
Ensure the version of software on the satellite is VxWorks 10.00.01 (10.01).
•
Factory reset the satellite system.
•
Ensure the DWDM software package is installed on the satellite. For example, the packages to be installed
on Cisco ONS15454 and on Cisco NCS 2000 Series are ons15454.DWDM.K9.R10011.pkg and
NCS2K.L.K9.R10011.pkg respectively.
•
Configure the satellite directly using Cisco Transport Controller (CTC) interface with the connection
settings, such as IP address, username, and password.
For more information about the settings, see the Implementing a Satellite nV System, on page 35
chapter. For information about CTC, see the Cisco Transport Controller chapter in Cisco ONS 15454
Reference Manual.
•
For the optical shelf system to collect data for performance monitoring, configure Network Time Protocol
(NTP) and set the satellite's clock to UTC timezone.
