12.1 System Watchdog (WD)
conga-IGX provides full Operating System Boot- and Operating System-Runtime HW Watchdog supervision.
Power On BIOS POST OS Boot OS running
BOOT-WD-timeout
(according to BIOS Setup)
BIOS Boot Watchdog OS Watchdog
OS-WD-timeout (max. 255 minutes)
(according to specific WD software agent)
OS started. If the watchdog has been enabled by BIOS (meout
set to xy minutes in BIOS Setup) it must be switched off or
retriggered (connuously) by a specific OS applicaon (=WD
soware agent), otherwise the system will be reset aer xy
minutes (= BOOT-WD-meout) respecvely aer nn minutes
(repeve OS-WD-meout).
If the watchdog is enabled in BIOS Setup (meout set to xy ≥ 1 minutes) and the
system hangs during OS boot, the system will be reset aer xy minutes.
If the watchdog is enabled in BIOS Setup (meout set to xy 1 minutes) and the system hangs
during OS boot, the system will be reset aer xy minutes.
Note:
Both watchdogs are physically idencal, but they are handled from different applicaon levels

Set Watchdog Timeout in BIOS Setup
0 = WD disabled
1 – 255 = WD enabled (timeout = 1 – 255 minutes)
