• Always cover the self-regulat-
ing heat tape with an insulation
wrap. The heat tape should
meet the following requirements:
a. The heat tape must be UL
listed.
b. Install the heat tape per the
manufacturer's instructions
for the entire length of drain
pipe in the unconditioned
space.
c. The heat tape should be
rated at 5 or 6 watts per foot
at 120 volts.
Upflow and horizontal installations
are certified for use on combustible
floors.

panel must be removed. To do this,
remove the two screws attaching the
panel to the front base angle. See
the figure below.
