IMPORTANT: HORIZONTAL
UNITS MUST BE PROPERLY
SUPPORTED. USE BRACKETS
THAT PROVIDE SUPPORT ALONG
THE FULL PERIMETER OF THE
FURNACE.
A WARNING: DO NOT PLACE
COMBUSTIBLE MATERIAL ON, OR
AGAINST, THE FURNACE JACKET.
KEEP THE AREA AROUND THE
FURNACE CLEAR AND FREE OF
ALL COMBUSTIBLE MATERIALS

INCLUDING GASOLINE AND
OTHER FLAMMABLE VAPORS
AND LIQUIDS. PLACEMENT OF
COMBUSTIBLE MATERIALS ON,
AGAINST, OR AROUND THE
FURNACE JACKET CAN CAUSE
AN EXPLOSION OR FIRE
RESULTING IN PROPERTY
DAMAGE, PERSONAL INJURY
OR DEATH. Be sure the equipment
owner knows that the furnace area
must not be used for any other
storage purposes.
IMPORTANT: THE DOWNFLOW/
HORIZONTAL UNIT CAN ONLY BE
INSTALLED IN THI;; HQRIZQNTAL
POSITION WITH THE AIR

DOORS.
SITE SELECTION
'
1. Select a site in the building near
the center of the proposed or
existing duct system .
2. Consider the vent system piping
when selecting the furnace
location. Be sure the venting
system can get from the furnace
to the termination
withminimal
length and elbows.
3. Locate the furnace near the
existing gas piping. Or, if run-
ning a new gas line, locate the
furnace to minimize the length
and elbows in the gas piping.
4. Locate the furnace to main-
tain proper clearance to
combustibles as shown in the
following tables.
5.
Locate the unit to simplify
condensate disposal.
f
CLEARANCE/ACCESSIBILITY
AG.A. Laboratories and CGA certify
the design of forced air furnaces with
input ratings as listed in the
accompanying tables for clearances
to combustible materials shown in
inches. See the furnace name/rating
plate and clearance label for specific
model number and clearance
information.
Service clearance of at least 24"
is recommended in front of all
furnaces.
ACCESSIBILITY CLEARANCES,
IF GREATER, MUST TAKE
PRECEDENCE OVER FIRE
PROTECTION CLEARANCES.
