16 Short thread cutter (KFA)
Important
Correct setup of the short thread cutter requires that the necessary work
steps be performed in the order given in this chapter.

Requirements
• The needle bar must be positioned at 0° at the top dead centre of the
handwheel; if this is not the case: 4 Setting the handwheel scale,
S. 21
• The hook bearing must be set up properly, see 10 Position of the
hook and needle, S. 44.
Thread-pulling knife height
The height of the thread-pulling knife has been set at the factory using ad-
justing washers between thread-pulling knife (1) and knife carrier (3).
When changing the knives make sure that you do not lose the adjusting
washers.
