16.3 Setting the thread-pulling knife

Proper setting
When the thread-pulling knife (1) is at rest, the distance between the
highest point of the control cam (7) and the roller (5) is 0.1 mm
The control cam (7) makes contact with the clamping ring (6)
The marking (3) on the thread-pulling knife (1) is adjacent to the cutting
edge of the counter-blade (2)
The knife carrier (4) must have no axial play, but still run smoothly
Risk of injury!
Risk of crushing injuries and stab wounds from
sharp and moving parts.
Switch the sewing machine off before you check
and set the thread-pulling knife.
WARNING
Risk of breakage
Never operate the machine without the thread-pulling knife.
The reverse-motion lock for the bobbin housing is on the thread-
pulling knife.
