8.2 Preventive Maintenance
The following preventive measures help assure long term operation of your DCX S Power
Supply equipment.
8.2.1 Periodically Clean the Equipment
Air is continuously drawn into the power supply. Periodically disconnect the unit from
power, remove the cover and vacuum out any accumulated dust and debris. Remove
material adhering to:
The fan blades and motor.
Power supply heat sink cooling fins
Transformers
Circuit boards
Cooling intake vents
Exhaust ports
External covers may be cleaned with a damp sponge or cloth using a solution of mild soap
and water. Do not allow cleaning solution to enter the unit.
To prevent rust in areas of high humidity, exposed steel surfaces, may require a very light
film of rust preventing oil, such as WD-40®*.
* WD-40 is a registered trademark of WD-40 Manufacturing Company.
NOTICE
Use only anti-static vacuum cleaners to prevent damage from
electrostatic discharge to your power supply.
