10.1.7 Operating conditions
Installation
Installation instructions Any orientation (vertical, horizontal)
Restrictions and additional installation instructions → Page 15
Inlet and outlet runs Inlet run: typically ≥ 5 x D
Outlet run: typically ≥ 2 x D
Length of connecting
cable
• For the remote version the permissible cable length L
max
depends on the conductivity
of the medium (see Page 25).
• A minimum conductivity of 20 µS/cm is required for measuring demineralized water.
Environment
Ambient temperature 4 to 140 °F (–20 to +60 °C) (sensor, transmitter)
Note the following points:
• Install the device at a shady location. Avoid direct sunlight, particularly in warm cli-
matic regions.
• If both fluid and ambient temperatures are high, install the transmitter at a remote loca-
tion from the sensor (→ “Medium temperature range”).
Storage temperature 14 to 122 °F (–10 to +50 °C) (preferably 68 °F / 20 °C)
Degree of protection • Standard: NEMA 4X (IP 67) for transmitter and sensor
• Optional: NEMA 6P (IP 68) for remote version of Promag W and P sensor
Shock and
vibration resistance
Acceleration up to 2 g by analogy with IEC 68-2-6
(high-temperature version: no data available)
CIP cleaning Promag W: not possible
Promag P: possible (note max. temperature)
Promag H: possible (note max. temperature)
SIP cleaning Promag W: not possible
Promag P: possible with PFA (note max. temperature)
Promag H: possible (note max. temperature)
