11.6.3.5.1 forward-time
Use this command to configure the spanning tree bridge forward time.
Command level: ecn330(config)#.
Syntax
ecn spanning-tree forward-time <forward_time>
Arguments:
• forward-time <forward_time> - Configures the spanning
tree bridge forward time in seconds. The minimum value is calcu-
lated as (max-age / 2) + 1, though never less than 4. Range 4-30
seconds.
Default Settings
15 seconds
Command Usage
This command is only active in the spanning tree root device. This com-
mand sets the maximum time (in seconds) the root device will wait before
changing states (that is, discarding to learning to forwarding). This delay is
required because every device must receive information about topology
changes before it starts to forward frames. In addition, each port needs
time to listen for conflicting information that would make it return to a block-
ing state; otherwise, temporary data loops might result.

ecn330(config)# ecn spanning-tree forward-time 20
11.6.3.5.2 hello-time
Use this command to configure the spanning tree bridge hello time globally
for the ECN.
Command level: ecn330(config)#.
