2. MAINTENANCE PRACTICES
A. Hand fire extinguisher
Maintenance type: Line
Personnel qualification: Pilot / Owner qualified in accordance with M.A.803.
Recommended tools and material:

(1) Removal – hand fire extinguisher
(a) Release quick-release clamps (3, Fig. 26-1) / Velcro fasteners (5) on the straps.
(b) Remove the fire extinguisher (1) from the holder (2) / cover (6).
(2) Installation – hand fire extinguisher
(a) Position the fire extinguisher (1, Fig. 26-1) in the holder (2) / cover (6).
(b) Secure with quick-release clamps (3) / Velcro fasteners (5) on the straps.
(3) Inspection / check – hand fire extinguisher
(a) Thoroughly examine fire extinguisher for signs of leakage, corrosion, or other
damage.
(b) At annual inspection, weigh fire extinguisher. The weigh compare with the data
listed on the label. If extinguisher weighs less than that specified, replace
immediately.
(c) If the fire extinguisher is installed on the control rod cover, check the Velcro
fasteners on the straps. In case of damage or insufficient connection of the Velcro
fasteners, replace the straps.
