1. DESCRIPTION AND OPERATION
KW-31-033 propeller blade pitch setting is enabled by a servomotor which is controlled by the
electronic propeller governor CS 3-5 (Fig. 61-4). The propeller governor is standardly located on the
central console below the instrument panel.
The propeller governor operates in two modes:
• automatic – the instrument evaluates actual engine speed, compares the value with pre-set value,
and keeps the actual engine speed within pre-set tolerance. The propeller is operated in constant
speed mode.
• manual – pilot controls the propeller blades adjustment in accordance with the specific flight
modes.
