(1) Removal – engine from the airplane
(a) Switch the electrical network off and disconnect the battery.
(b) Switch the fuel cock control to the OFF position.
(c) Remove the upper part of the engine cowling (Section 71-10).
(d) Unscrew and remove the screws (3, Fig. 71–2) with the washers (5) that attach the
liquid cooler to the lower cowling of the engine (2).
(e) Disconnect the inlet air hoses of the airbox (Section 71-60).
(f) Disconnect the flap control of the airbox (Section 71-60).
(g) Remove the lower part of the engine cowling (Section 71-10).
(h) Disconnect the battery (Section 24-30).
(i) Remove the propeller (Section 61-10).
(j) Remove the engine control (Section 76-10).
(k) Drain the coolant (Section 12-10).
(l) Drain the oil (Section 12-10).
(m) Disconnect the wires of electrical installation of the engine.
(n) Remove the engine exhaust system (Section 78-20).
(o) Disconnect and close the fuel inlet hoses (Section 28-20).
(p) Disconnect and close the oil system hoses (Section 79-20).
(q) Disconnect the hoses of the engine cooling system, including the liquid cooler
(Section 75-00).
(r) Suspend the engine (10, Fig. 71–1) on the workshop crane (8).
(s) Remove the engine from the airplane:
1 Release the bolts (1).
2 Remove the bolts (1) for suspending the engine mount (11) on the firewall.
3 Take out the bolts (1) along with the washers (2) and a part of upper and
lower silentblocks, washers and cups.
(t) Close the holes on the engine arisen as a result of removal.
(u) Put the engine in a suitable stand.
(v) Remove the strut between the airbox and the engine mount (Section 71-60).
(w) As needed, remove the engine mount from the engine (Section 71-20).
(2) Installation – engine on the airplane
CAUTION
THE THREADS OF SCREWS AND NUTS TIGHTENED BY
TORQUE WRENCH MUSTN´T BE LUBRICATED!
NOTE
When installing the engine on the aircraft, observe the
procedures prescribed by the engine manufacturer.
(a) As needed, install the engine mount on the engine (Section 71-20).
