2. MAINTENANCE PRACTICES
A. Engine drains
Maintenance type: Line
Personnel qualification: Independent verification personnel qualified in accordance with
Part 66 or higher
Recommended tools and material:
Gripping pliers Cobra 1 pc.
Nippers - 1 pc.
Cable tie 3,6x142 6 pcs.
Stainless lockwire ø 0,8 mm
WARNING
SWITCH OFF THE IGNITION AND TAKE OUT THE KEY!
(1) Removal – drain hoses
(a) Switch the electrical network off and disconnect the battery.
(b) Remove the engine cowlings (Section 71-10).
(c) Cut the wire by nippers (6, Fig. 71– 9) and pull down the venting hoses of
carburettors (4) and (5).
(d) Remove the clamps (11) for attachment of the hoses (12) and (13) of the airbox
drains (1).
(e) Using the nippers, cut the cable ties (16).
(f) Pull down the hoses (12) and (13) from the outlets on the airbox (1).
(g) In the same way as the previous ones, remove the hoses (14) and (15) of the
sump drains (9) and (10).
(2) Installation – drain hoses
(a) Slide the hoses (12, Fig. 71–9), (13), (14) and (15) onto the appropriate outlets
from the airbox (1) and from the condensate sumps (9) and (10).
(b) Install the clamps (11) and secure them.
(c) Attach the hoses (12), (13), (14) and (15) to the tubes of the engine mount
supporting structure by means of cable ties (16).
(d) Slide the venting hoses of carburettors (4) and (5) onto the outlets from the
carburettors (7) and (8) and from the airbox (1).
(e) Secure the venting hoses of carburettors (4) and (5) by winding the lockwire (6).
(f) Install the engine cowlings (Section 71-10).
(g) Connect the battery, switch the electrical network on.
