If these procedures fail to rejuvenate the electrode, try the following procedure.
This procedure can be performed only when the pH electrode is not installed in the pH valve.
Note:

Heat a 1 M KNO

solution to 60°C–80°C.1
Place the electrode tip in the heated KNO
3
solution.2
Allow the electrode to cool while immersed in the KNO
3
solution before re-testing.3
If these steps fail to improve the electrode, replace the electrode, see Section 7.5.2 Replace the pH
electrode, on page 275.
Clean a pH electrode installed in the pH valve
Follow the instructions below to clean a pH electrode installed in the pH valve. The calibration function
is used to switch the position of the pH valve. However, no calibration is performed.
ActionStep
Open the System Control module and select System:Calibrate.1
Result: The Calibration dialog opens.
Set Monitor to calibrate by selecting pH from the list.2
Press the Prepare for calibration button.3
Result: The pH valve switches to the calibration position.
