After equilibration and sample application, hy-
drophobic proteins adsorb to the column ligand.
After a wash to remove unbound sample, elution
is performed by generating a gradient of a non-
polar, organic solvent such as acetonitrile. Final-
ly, the column is washed and re-equilibrated.
