Computer Ethernet address
You will need the physical address for the network card used for communication with
the instrument to complete the e-license configuration. Normally, this address is shown
in the Configure e-License dialog. If for some reason the address is not shown in the
dialog, follow the steps below to find the address.
If the computer is equipped with two interface cards you should verify that
the correct address is used.
Note:

Open a Command Prompt window

enter the command ipconfig/all.

Locate the listing for the Network Interface Card (also called Ethernet adapter)
used to connect to the instrument.

Make a note of the Physical Address.
Note:
The physical address is a 6-digit hexadecimal number, with the digits sepa-
rated by hyphens (e.g., F0-1F-AF-3E-42-1A). You can omit the hyphens if
you wish.

Tip:
If you type the address into a text editor or similar program you can copy it
the the Windows clipboard (you cannot copy text from the Command Prompt
window).

In Windows XP, click the Start button and choose Programs:Accessories:Command Prompt.
In Windows 7, click the Windows icon and choose All Programs:Accessories:Command Prompt.
You can also press and hold the Windows key and then press the letter R. Type 'cmd' in the
input field and click OK or press Enter.
