B Create multi-layered MPL (graphical)
views
The goal is to set up the UPD in dynamic mode, with one link titled something like “Browse for
Printers…” as illustrated below. When the users click on this link, they are presented with a map or
list of the United States, with links to the various company sites displayed. As the click on a site link,
they are presented with progressively more detailed maps till they have browsed to the particular
building and floor of interest.
NOTE: The examples use a multiple layer list view, with a clickable map for the last layer. Multiple
layered maps can be achieved in the same way as explained in this documentation.
To create this list of links, you need a series of web pages, with the top view page linking to the more
detailed pages, until you finally work your way down to a particular managed printer list graphical
view.
In the diagram above, if we were visiting building 2 upper in Boise, we would click first on Boise in the
US map, then building 2, then finally click Upper to get a graphical view of the available printers. The
first MPL is called “Browse for Printers in the United States” in the above example. This is the name
of the MPL in MPA. The users will see the name of this MPL in the UPD.
