The power supplies have built-in fans and are not controlled by the iLO MP.
For fan identification, see Figure 39 (page 109).
1. Extend or remove the server from the rack (“Removing the server from the rack” (page 99) or
“Extending the server from the rack (page 95)).
2. Remove the access panel (“Removing and replacing the access panel” (page 106)).
3. Remove the fan.
CAUTION: Do not operate the server for long periods with the access panel open or
removed. Operating the server in this manner results in improper airflow and improper cooling
that can lead to thermal damage.
To replace the component, reverse the removal procedure.
Removing and replacing the power supply backplane
1. Power off the server (“Powering off the server” (page 99)).
2. Remove all power supplies (“Removing and replacing a hot-swap power supply (page 105)).
