NOTE:
You must configure a static RP, a C-RP, or both in a BIDIR-PIM domain.
In a network without C-RPs, skip the task of configuring a BSR.

• (Required.) Configuring a C-BSR
• (Optional.) Configuring a PIM domain border
• (Optional.) Disabling the BSM semantic fragmentation function
(Optional.) Configuring common PIM features
Configuration prerequisites
Before you configure BIDIR-PIM, configure a unicast routing protocol so that all devices in the domain are
interoperable at the network layer.
Enabling BIDIR-PIM
Because BIDIR-PIM is implemented on the basis of PIM-SM, you must enable PIM-SM before you enable
BIDIR-PIM. When you deploy a BIDIR-PIM domain, HP recommends that you enable PIM-SM on all
non-border interfaces of the domain.

ll interfaces on a device must be enabled with the same PIM mode.
