IPv6 multicast group.
Configuring IPv6 multicast source port filtering
This feature is supported on the following hardware:
MSR routers installed with the Layer 2 switching module HMIM 24GSW, HMIM 24GSW-POE, or HMIM
8GSW.
When the IPv6 multicast source port filtering feature is enabled on a port, the port blocks all multicast
data packets, but it permits IPv6 multicast protocol packets to pass. You can connect the port to only IPv6
multicast receivers rather than to multicast sources.
If this feature is disabled on the port, you can connect the port to either multicast sources or IPv6 multicast
receivers.
You can enable multicast source port filtering either for the specified ports in MLD-snooping view or for
the current port in interface view. These configurations have the same priority level.
