6.7. GLOBAL EARTH RESISTANCE/CONTACT VOLTAGE (R
A )
The instrument allows the measurement of the global earth resistance (a
measurement typically used in TT type electrical systems - civil installations as an
alternative to the earth measurement with the voltamperometric method) by applying
a test current of I'N / 2 in which I'N = rated tripping current of the differential (RCD)
and therefore, in the absence of ground leakage, without causing the intervention of
the RCD.
1. Press the FUNC key and select the R
A function. The following screen is shown

2. Select the test parameters on the instrument (see Table 9) and carry out the
desired setup

3. Check selected nominal differential current and modify it if needed by pressing
the I
N touch-screen key first.
4. Select measurement screen by pressing the
touch-screen key and check all
settings again
5. Connect the test leads or the Shuko cable according to one of below figures:
