8.3 Batteries, cables & battery charger
8.3.1 Making the batteries accessible
CAUTION:
Injury hazard if battery is not correctly handled during assembly and maintenance work!
The installation of new batteries may only be carried out by authorised specialists!
Observe the warning information on the batteries!
Bear in mind that the batteries are very heavy!
Only use battery versions stated in the specifications!
Fire and burns hazard if battery terminal is bypassed!
Do NOT bridge battery terminals with tools!
CAUTION:
Discharging acid can cause skin burns if the battery is damaged:
Always change out of soiled or soaked clothing immediately!
If contact with skin is made:
Always wash the skin immediately with plenty of water!
If contact with eyes is made:
Always rinse your eyes out immediately under running water for several minutes! It is imperative
that you consult an eye specialist immediately!
Requirements:
No tools are required.
Note
When disassembling, take care of small parts such as screws and washers. Put all small parts
down so that they can be reassembled in the right sequence.
Remove the rear panel as described in Chapter 8.1.1.
Pull back the spring lock (1) next to the power module.
Raise the power module together with the mounting and remove the mounting from the battery
cap flap.
Place the power module and the mounting on the upper side of the battery compartment or on
the actuator module that may possibly exist.
