12 Technology modules
12.1 PROFIBUS-DP interface
12.1.1 Product description
The PROFIBUS-DP interface provides an additional fieldbus connection. All of the functions and parameters can be addressed
directly, for example from a Simatic S7 control system. The interface is plugged into the technology slot TECH 2 of the item
servo positioning controller C Series.
The PROFIBUS-DP interface is supported solely in the
TECH 2
technology slot.
Additional technology modules will not be supported if the PROFIBUS-DP interface is used.
If your specific requirements are more complex, please contact your sales partner in order to find a solution
for your particular application.
As a special feature, S7 function blocks have been developed for the servo positioning controllers. Using these function
blocks, the servo positioning controllers can be controlled directly by the PLC program and the users can integrate their
systems easily and clearly into the Simatic S7 environment.
