Purpose
For opmum cooling, verify the condion of the air lters.
Acon
• Regularly inspect the air lter. A dirty air lter restricts airow in the unit, producing a negave eect
on the venlaon of the chassis. The lter degrades over me. You must replace the lter every six
months.
CAUTION: Always keep the air lter in place while the switch is operang. Because
the fans are very powerful, they could pull small bits of wire or other materials into the
switch through the unltered air intake. This could damage the switch components.
• EX9200 switches ship with one air lter preinstalled. Spare air lters are separately orderable. The
shelf life of the air lters vary from two to ve years depending on the storage condions. Store
spare air lters in a dark, cool, and dry place. Wrap the air lters separately using plasc wraps and
store them in an environment with RH between 40% to 80% and temperature between 40° F to
90° F. Storing air lters at higher temperatures or where they can be exposed to ultraviolet (UV)
radiaon, hydrocarbon emissions, or vapors from solvents can signicantly reduce their life. If an air
lter develops akes or becomes brile when rubbed or deformed, you must not use it.
