Ifyouarereplacingaservercomponentintheserver,youneedtoslidetheserveroutfromtherack
enclosure,turnofftheserverandperipheraldevices,anddisconnectthepowercordsandallexternalcables.
Toinstallamicroprocessorandheatsink,completethefollowingsteps.
Step1.Carefullyturntheserveronitssidesothatitislyingflat,withthecoverfacingup.

•Whenyouhandlestatic-sensitivedevices,takeprecautionstoavoiddamagefromstatic

•Themicroprocessorcontactsarefragile;handlethemicroprocessorverycarefully.Donottouch

Step2.Alignthemicroprocessorwiththesocket(notethealignmentmarkandthepositionofthenotches);
then,carefullyplacethemicroprocessoronthesocket,closethemicroprocessorbracketframe,
andclosethemicroprocessorreleaselatch.
