Control panel service check
Warning—Potential Damage: Do not replace the operator panel and controller board at the same time. Each card
contains the printer settings. When either of these cards is new, it obtains some of the settings from the other card.
Settings are lost when both are new and replaced at the same time.

Check the UICC cable for proper connection to the UICC and to the
controller board.
Are they properly connected?
Go to step 2. Reseat the cable.

Is the control panel display blank?
Go to step 3. The problem is solved.

Replace the UICC. Go to

The problem is solved. Replace the controller
board. Go to
“Controller board
removals” on
page 200.
Toner starvation service check

a Make sure that the toner cartridge is properly installed.
b Check the toner cartridge and toner cartridge button for damage.
Replace if necessary.
c Check if the toner cartridge is supported. Replace with a supported
toner cartridge if necessary.
d Make sure that the latest firmware is installed.
Does the problem remain?
Go to step 2. The problem is solved.

Check the cartridge plunger.
Is the cartridge plunger properly attached to the front door and is the
spring functioning properly?
