Self-help
¾ Use a socket to release the self-locking nut
(1) (AF 19 mm) on the left-hand side of the
variable displacement pump housing.
¾ Unscrew threaded stud (2) (AF 8 mm)
2 turns using the socket.
¾ Lock the threaded stud with the
self-locking
nut (1), and tighten to 50 Nm.
¾ Close the bonnet.
Release multi-disc brake
The brake valve is located under the bottom
plate on the left-hand side of the truck chassis.
¾ Remove floor mat.
¾ Insert hexagon socket wrench (AF 5 mm)
through the bore in the bottom plate and
unscrew socket head screw (3) by ap-
prox. 8 turns.
¾ Sit on driver’s seat.
¾ Press down handle
of parking brake.
The symbol on the indicator unit will go out.
¾ Move the stop pedal several times in and out
of easy-movement range until resistance is
felt (pump) and until the brake is released.
After towing
¾ Place chocks un
derneath on side facing
downhill.
¾ Open the bonnet.
¾ Loosen sealing collar nut (1) on variable
pump.
¾ Screw in threa
ded stud (2) (AF 8 mm), and
tighten to 20
+5
Nm.
¾ Lock threaded stud with sealing collar nut
(1).
¾ Tighten nut to 50 Nm.
Establishing braking readiness
¾ Insert sock
et head screw (3) until stop in
valve block
.
