Collapse
Cave in on oneself / crumple. Collapsing of the exudate pouch is undesirable.
In such cases, it is important to establish whether it has been inserted
correctly in the device or if any leaks can be found. In contrast, collapsing of
the wound dressing indicates that negative pressure has been established in
the wound and that the therapy is functioning as intended.
Contamination
Contamination is when micro-organisms such as bacteria and fungi as well
asviruses colonise asurface, compromising its cleanliness.
E
EMC
Electromagnetic compatibility: The device’s capacity not to interfere with
otherdevices as aresult of adverse electrical and/or electromagnetic effects
or to be affected by other devices.
Exudate
The term exudate refers to all accumulating fluids and particles which can
develop or be present in awound. The exudate is suctioned out of the wound
with the help of the Suprasorb
®
CNP P3 therapy unit and collected in an
exudate pouch.

Haemostasis
Haemostasis is the sum of the physical processes which combine to stop
bleeding.

L&R is the abbreviation used in the instructions for use for Lohmann & Rauscher
International GmbH & Co. KG with its headquarters in Rengsdorf, Germany.

Oversuction Oversuction is when exudate is sucked into the interior of the device.

Reprocessing
Reprocessing is required whenever there is achange of patient.
Reprocessing means that all the single-use products are disposed
of and the Suprasorb
®
CNP P3 therapy unit wipe-down disinfected.

CNP P3 therapy unit must only be opened by L&R
oranauthorised L&R service partner.

Sensitivity
The device’s sensitivity specifies how sensitively the device is set and
howquickly alarms are triggered. The higher the sensitivity setting,
themoresensitively the device reacts and the quicker the alarm is triggered.
