9.2 Storage
- Do not store with damaged, used or discarded
batteries.
- The storage area can be ventilated.
- Never smoke at the storage site.
- Never consume food or beverages at the storage
site.
- No direct sunlight on the otherwise dry storage site.
- Do not store with metal objects. If the storage
surface is metal, use insulation (a plastic
container).
- Place a Class D metal fire extinguisher nearby.
- Place a first aid kit nearby.
- Keep emergency assistance numbers with the first
aid kit.
- Every stored battery must be packed in an internal
package that is not conductive and fully covers the
battery.
9.3 Transport
Lithium-ion batteries are not subject to the remaining
regulations of the ADR, RID, ADN and IMDG code if they
comply with special regulation 188.
Since January 1, 2013, it has been permissible to
transport lithium-ion batteries by air in compliance with
ICAO-TI and IATA-DGR, Part II or Part I B of the
Packaging Instruction (VA) 965 (lithium-ion batteries), VA
966 (lithium-ion batteries, with equipment) and VA 967
(lithium-ion batteries, in equipment).
- The owner of the FlyMarker
®
mini 120/45 is
required by law to hand used batteries over to
battery collection facilities of the GRS Battery
Foundation (www.grs-batterien.de).
- When the used battery is returned, its contacts
must be protected by a cover cap. Moreover, used
must be handed over in a sealed plastic bag.
