Bluetooth and FM radio
Bluetooth
The BTHFMRDS2.0M module, D6000, is integrated with some discrete passive components, band-pass filter
and the BCM2048 Bluetooth ASIC which also includes the FM radio. See the FM radio description in the next
section. The Bluetooth (BT) transceiver provides a wireless digital communication link between a master unit
and up to seven slave units.
The BT module shares the system clock signal (38.4MHz) from the Ritsa engine, through a clock buffer, V7400.
The BT audio interfaces are connected to the Rapido’s (D2800) PCM ports, while its data links are through
the application CPU’s (D4800) UART ports. BT’s RF input/output path is connected to the WLAN Front End
Module (FEM), so the BT operation can coexist with the WLAN’s, with BT-WLAN-coexisting control lines
connected between two ASICs.
FM radio
The FM radio is integrated together with the Bluetooth on the BCM2048 ASIC. The Murata module used is a
single module solution which contains the BCM2048 ASIC and all external passive components. The FM radio
is controlled by the RAPIDO-YAWE (D2800) via the FCI_CMT I2C bus. It utilizes the AV connector for its antenna
connectivity. The RF input of the FM module is connected to the right-side-audio output pin of the AV
connector via a RF coupling circuitry. The headset wire acts as the antenna for FM reception. The stereo FM
audio outputs are fed to the headset after going through the DAC33 (N2100) and the TPA6130 headset
amplifier (N2000). RDS data is also available from this BCM2048 ASIC via the I2C bus.
