Component Description
1 Final Filters Remove any remaining fine powder particles from the air flow
before it is returned to the spray room.
2 Fan/Motor Assembly Creates and maintains the air flow through the booth canopy,
ducts, cyclones, and afterfilter.
3 Pulse Valves Periodically send pulses of air through the cartridge filters to
blow off powder collected on the cartridges.
4 Pulse Air Manifolds Distribute compressed air to the pulse valves.
5 Pulse Valve Timer Box Controls pulse valve operation. The timer board allows
settings for pulse cycle interval, pulse interval, and pulse
duration. The valves are opened and closed, one after
another, in sequence. Cycle time is time between each pulse
cycle. Pulse interval is time between pulses. Pulse duration is
time valve is open.
6 Cartridge Filters Filter powder particles out of the air before the air is drawn into the
fan section.
7 Deflagration Vent Opens to relieve pressure in the housing if a dust explosion
should occur inside.
8 Waste Hopper Collects powder particles that are blown off the cartridge
filters.
9 Fluidizing Plate Fluidizes the powder in the waste hopper, so that it can be
pumped into a waste container for disposal.
10 Transfer Pumps Pump collected powder out of the waste hopper to a waste
container.
11 Waste Container Stores powder collected in the afterfilter waste hopper. The
waste container must be grounded and vented into the
afterfilter.
12 Vent hose Vents the waste container back into the afterfilter to contain
fine powder dust within the system.
13 Inlet Duct Brings powder-laden air from the cyclones to the afterfilter.
14 Afterfilter Control Panel Contains the afterfilter electrical controls for the fan motor,
cartridge filter cleaning, waste hopper fluidizing, and transfer
pumps.

15 Differential Pressure
Switch/Gauge
Measures the pressure drop across the final filters. If the final
filters start clogging, the air pressure inside the housing will
rise and trip the switch, shutting down the entire system.
