Introduction
The ColorMax Engineered Powder Coating System is operated with the
controls on the Main System Panel, the Afterfilter Control Panel, and the
Spectrum Feed Center Panel.
Operators should use this section and the Spectrum Powder Feed Center
manual (part number 1103292) to operate the ColorMax Engineered
Powder Coating System.
New System Preparation
Canopy Conditioning
Before starting up the powder coating system for the first time, perform the
Initial Canopy Conditioning procedure in Maintenance. The inside surfaces
of the canopy must be clean, dry, and free of oils. A clean canopy prevents
powder from sticking, and allows for fast color changes.
Cartridge Filter Seasoning
New cartridge filters should be seasoned before beginning production.
Refer to the Cartridge Filter Seasoning procedure in the Repair section for
instructions.
Main System Panel Controls
See Figure4 -1. The Main System Panel controls consist of a main
disconnect switch, emergency stop, system on indicator, system start and
stop buttons, and a touch screen operator interface.
