7. Open the transfer pan and remove the remaining cyclone cleaning
media.
8. Close the transfer pan.
9. Load a new powder color and reclaim to waste for 1−2 minutes to
cleanse the system of the cyclone cleaning media residue.
Emptying Afterfilter Waste Hopper
Afterfilter waste hopper should be emptied as often as is necessary.
1. See Figure 5-1. Install the waste lid (2) on an empty 55-gallon drum (3).
2. Ground the lid and drum to a true earth ground.
3. Attach transfer hoses (5) between the transfer pumps (4) and the waste
lid.
NOTE: Make sure that any unused hose connectors on the waste lid
are plugged.
4. Attach the vent hose (1) to the waste lid and the afterfilter vent stub.
5. On the afterfilter control panel, turn on the fluidizing air. Allow the
powder in the waste hopper to fluidize for several minutes.
6. After the waste powder is fluidized, turn on the transfer pumps.
NOTE: The normal operating air pressure for the transfer pump is 2 bar
(30 psi). Increase the transfer pump air pressure if desired.
7. When the transfer pump is not drawing any more powder out of the
waste hopper, turn off the transfer pumps and fluidizing air.
