8. See Figure 4-9. On the Afterfilter Control Panel, turn on the Filter
Clean Timer. The filter cartridges will be pulsed at the timer setting.
9. Install a powder feed hopper or powder box in the feed center. Refer to
the Spectrum Powder Feed Center manual.
10. Refer to Figure 4-10. Select the powder source type (4).
11. If using a feed hopper, connect the fluidizing air tubing to the hopper
plenum and adjust the fluidizing air pressure (2) so that the powder
gently boils in the hopper.
12. If using a powder box, start the vibratory table (8).
13. Lower the lance assembly into the hopper or box (9). The lance will stop
automatically at the appropriate height, according to the powder source
selection.
14. If using a powder box, adjust the lance fluidizing air pressure (1) until the
powder around the lance is gently boiling.
15. Make sure the sieve discharge pan is positioned so the discharge tube
directs the screened powder into the feed hopper or box. Loosen the
deck clamps to rotate the pan, then re-clamp the deck.
16. If used, make sure the Reclaim and Virgin powder transfer hoses are
connected to the tubing stubs on the sieve deck.
17. Turn on the Reclaim transfer pump (5) and the Virgin transfer pump (6).
18. Turn on the sieve (7).
19. Turn on the spray guns and start spraying powder. Make sure everything
is working correctly before starting production.
NOTE: It is important that the inside surface of the canopy is not touched
by bare hands. Skin oils and other contaminants will affect the ability of the
canopy to shed powder. Operators should wear cotton gloves when working
with the canopy.
