Securing Thumbscrew-Type Robot Locks
Secure the robot lock prior to maintenance activities that might obstruct the robot. If
you have a robot and controller assembly with the thumbscrew-type lock, park the
robot in its housing at the top of the base module and lock the robot, using the
procedures in this appendix.
Park the Robot
1. If you have not already done so, power the library off using either the remote user
interface or the local operator panel.
2. When the Power Down Library confirmation dialog appears, check the Prepare
the Robot for removal before the library powers down check box.
This moves the robot to its housing at the top of the base module.
3. Press the OK button to continue or Cancel to abort and stop here.
4. Lock the robot.
Lock the Robot
1. Locate the robot lock on the back of the base module. The lock is a green, plastic
thumbscrew located at top center on the enclosure.
2. Loosen the captive thumbscrew on the lock assembly.
