CHAINCASE COVER TORQUE PATTERN
RIGHT FENDER CHAINCASE ACCESS
SCREWS
Remove the two screws
q
securing the bottom of the
right fender to the chassis when performing the following
tasks:
• Draining chaincase oil using the Cover Method
• Removing chaincase cover
• Removing chaincase assembly
CHAINCASE DISASSEMBLY
CAUTION
Exhaust system components can cause serious burns.
Allow exhaust system to cool completely.
1. Remove the left and right engine compartment door
panels.
2. Remove the hood assembly.
3. If the vehicle is equipped with a battery, remove the
battery and battery bracket.
4. Remove the exhaust resonator.
5. Drain the chaincase oil using the cover drain method.
When performing procedure, remove the cover
fasteners.
6. Lock the parking brake. Remove the brake disc
fastener

and spring washers

7. Release the parking brake.
