9. Loosely install the nuts

and washers onto the rear
of the housing.
10.Install the rivets
i
securing the chaincase housing to
the tunnel closeoff.
11. Install the rivets
o
securing the bulkhead floor to the
chaincase housing.
12.After all of the fasteners are loosely installed, torque
the nuts and fasteners to specifications.
TORQUE
Chaincase Rear Mounting Nuts:
9 ft-lbs (12 N·m)
Chaincase / Side Support Fasteners:
26 ft-lbs (35 N·m)
Tube Brace Fastener:
22 ft-lbs (30 N·m)
13.Install the speed sensor

and fastener

onto the
housing. Torque fastener to specification.
TORQUE
Speed Sensor Fastener:
7 ft-lbs (9 N·m)
14.Reinstall the chaincase components. Follow the
procedure for chaincase assembly.
15.Reinstall the right fender assembly.
16.Reinstall the rear suspension, jackshaft, and
driveshaft.
