Installing Line-Up-and-Match

2 battery Cabinets
Before beginning the following procedures, be sure you have prepared the UPS for
installation of lineup-and-match battery cabinets (see page 17). Refer to Figure 22
on page 36 for the location of items mentioned in these procedures.
To wire line-up-and-match 7’jpe 2 battery cabinets together:
1.
All battery cabinets will arrive at your site with each battery connection string
electrically disconnected. Remove the screws that secure the left cable
connector, and remove the
tiewrap
securing the left wire plug.
2. In the adjoining cabinet to the left. remove the screws securing the right cable
connector.
3. Mate the left cable connector and
left
wire plug in battery cabinet

to the right
cable connector and fixed right wire plug in the adjoining cabinet to the left.
Figure 22 on page 36 shows the cutout for routing of battery cable and wire.
4. Repeat steps 1 through 3 for each battery cabinet to be joined.
To wire a iine-up-and-match
TLpe
2 battery cabinet to the UPS:
1.
A UPS battery cable connector is supplied inside the UPS cabinet.

is
connected to terminals E4 and E5 and tlewrapped in place. Remove the screws
that secure the left cable
connector,.and
remove the
tiewrap
securing the left
wire plug.

2. Mate the left cable connector and the left wire plug with the UPS battery cable
connector and remote interface plug
(1
supplied)
inside.the
UPS cabinet. See
Figure 22 on page 36 and Drawing 164200253-7 on page A-l 6 to locate the
cutouts for
routing
of battery cable and wire.
3.
After making sure that the battery breaker is in the OFF position, connect the
battery
strings
in the battery cabinet by
mating
all
disconnected battery drawer
connectors to the closest string connectors.
4. Mount the
right
side panel (removed from the UPS) to the right side of the end
battery cabinet
a.
Mount the hanger bracket to the top right side of the battery cabinet.
b.
Hang the tight side panel on the hanger bracket and align it with the
front and rear
of the
battery cabinet.
C. Secure the rigM side panel at the bottom.
5.
Replace the deadfronts and secure the UPS doors by reversing the applicable
steps from the UPS preparation procedure on page 17.
6.
Replace all battery cabinet center deadfronts.
7. Attach a ground bus between joined cabinet frames using the procedure On
page 26.
8.
Secure all battery cabinets by reversing steps 1
