The windscreen washer is operated by a
plunger
button located on the R.
H.
of
the fasci
a,
between the heater and wiper motor switches.
Water is directed onto the screen from a
twin
nozzle jet, linked to a reservoir. clipped
in
a
support bracket rivetted
to
the R.H. side
of
the
engine compartment. via
plastic tubing.
Two
non-return valves are incorporated in the tubing
to ensure
all the water is used during every
operation
of
the plunger button.
The washer reservo
ir
should be checked weekly
and topped up,
if
necessary, with cl
ean
water.
When
cleaning the vehicle take care
not
to
block up the nozzles
of
the washer
jet
as
this
wi
ll result in inefficient and irregular cleaning
of
the windscreen. Use a fine needle
to
clear the
jets.

1 Unscrew
bezel securing pump to
fas
cia.
2 From underneath the fascia disconnect the
inlet and outlet tubes from the pump, which can
then be removed from the
vehicle.
3 Replace in reverse order.

1 From underneath fascia disconnect tubing
from washer jet.
2 Remove
wing
nut
, complete
with
lockwasher,
and
withdraw
jet from its body seating.
3
Replace
in
r
eve
rse
order ensuring the jet is
positioned
with
the
two
nozzles angled equally
at the windscreen.
