The interior Section R
channels
to
facilitate easy removal and
replacement
of
the
floor
carpets. When replacing
any
of
the trim carpets
that
are ahered
to
the
body
all traces
of
the original adhesive should
be removed
to
ensure a
good
base
for
the
new
carpet.
Headlining (saloon)
To
remove
(see
Figure
4)
1 Disconnect battery.
2 Remove windscreen, rear
quarterlights,
weatherstrips, rear
window
complete
with
hinges, rear
window
seal, and rear quarter
trim
fillets.
3 Remove rear
view
mirror, interior lamp and
sun visors.
4 Remove
door
aperture seals and peel
down
the
top
section
of
R.H. and L.H.
'A'
post and
'8'
post trim covers.

Peel headlining from
door
aperture and
window
aperture.
6 Starting from the rear
of
the vehicle spring
the
five listing rods from the retainers.
7 Remove
headlining from the vehicle.
8
Withdraw
listing rods from the headlining.
Note:
The five rods vary in length, therefore
to
ensure correct replacement
it
is advisable
to
mark them.
To
replace
1 Thread the listing rods in the correct order
into
the
new
headlining.
2 Starting from the front apply
contact
adhesive
to
the edge
of
the headlining.

3 Ensuring the
headlining is central
to

vehicle roof, temporarily
tack
the cloth
to
the
windscreen weatherstrip
body
lip
using spire
clips.

Apply
adhesive
to
the rear edge
of
the
headlining and
tack
to
rear
window
aperture
with
spire clips.
Note:
During this operation the headlining
should
be kept
as
taut
as
possible.

Apply
adhesive
to
the R.H. edge
of
the
headlining,
fit
listing rods
into
the
retainers, and
tack
headlining
to
door
aperture and rear
quarterlight aperture, again using spire clips.
6 Repeat operation
for
L.H. side ensuring the
headlining is kept taut.
7 Trim excess
material from headlining.
8 Leave the vehicle for a
few
minutes
to
enable the adhesive
to
take and then remove
spire
clips.
9 Using a
light
coating
of
adhesive refit the
top
of
R.H. and L.H.
'A'
post and
'8'
post trim
covers over
headlining.
10
Replace
door
seals.
11
Locate rear quarter trim fillets, replace rear
window
seal, rear
window
and rear
quarterlights and windscreen.
12
Refit sun visors, interior lamp and rear
view
mirror.
13
Reconnect battery.
