– All power supply and signal cables are installed and connected.
‡ The following tools and equipment are required:
â–  Personnel protection, for example, against hot or corrosive measurement gases
â–  The following tools are essential:
– 2 x 24 mm open-ended spanners or box wrenches for mounting the measuring
probe on the duct
– 1 x 19 mm open-ended spanner or box wrench for mounting the measuring probe
on the SR unit and for optical alignment
– Hexagon socket screw key set
– Insulated screwdriver set for electrical work, and so on.
â–  Fastening parts supplied with the GM35 measuring system:
– 4 bolts M16 x 60 with washers and self-locking nuts for securing the probe to the
flange on the duct side
– 3 nuts with washers and 10 disk springs in each case for securing the measuring
probe to the SR unit (see Page page 49)
– Seal for sealing the measuring probe and SR unit connection
â–  Optics cloths without detergents, for example, SICK-MAIHAK order no. 4 003 353
â–  If a weatherproof cover is used, an adhesive is required to attach the fixing bolts on
the SR unit. A quick-drying epoxy resin adhesive is recommended.
â–  Depending on where the SR unit is adjusted (see Chapter 6.4), the following accesso-
ries may be required:
– Adjustment at the measuring point: angle flange (order no. 2 017 833) or suitable
test bracket (supplied by the customer) for securing the SR unit and measuring
probe.
Adjustment elsewhere: an additional power supply cable with connector for the SR
unit, and (if a GPP measuring probe is used) for the measuring probe (order no.
2 017 519, see also „Adjustment elsewhere“ on page 51 and Chapter 6.4.2 on
page 52). In this case, the angle flange is not used. A test bracket (provided by the
customer) or suitable support is used instead.
6.3 Mechanical preparations for the SR unit and measuring probe
DANGER
Avoid hazards caused by measurement gases
To prevent injury, the following steps must be performed according to the instructions in the
following sections, and not as part of the preparations described in this Chapter:
– Connecting the power supply to the SR unit
– Mounting an angle flange or the measuring probe on the gas duct
