6.6.3.2 Assigning devices to axle counting components
When using the Axle Detector system function, you must generally assign the 2D LiDAR
sensors manually to the system components, regardless of whether the measurement
site has one or two LMS Axle units. For assignment, you need the serial numbers that you
recorded before mounting the scanners (see chapter 4.2.4.1 Noting serial numbers of the
2D LiDAR sensors of the LMS Axle).
The IP address of the sensors must be changed to the address range of the internal
sensor network 192.168.20.x.
Fig. 101: Assigning devices to axle counting components
The system assumes the assignment of the Axle Detector system function for vehicle
detection. The first Axle Detector system function is assigned to the first TIC, the second
Axle Detector system function to the second TIC or the outermost TIC. In a lane with two
Axle Detector system functions, the two system functions are connected to the same TIC.
In our example with an Axle Detector system function, the IP address of the sensor must
be changed and the sensor assigned to the LMS Axle system component. IP address
change and assignment is done using the device search (see chapter 6.6.2.3 Assigning
devices to vehicle detection components for the detailed process).
