Failure and replacement of an IM 460 and IM 461 interface module
Starting situation
How does the system react?
The S7-400H is in redundant system mode and
an interface module fails.
• The connected expansion unit is turned off.
• Both CPUs report the event in the diagnostic
buffer and via OB 86.
Follow the steps below to replace an interface module:
How does the system react?
1 Turn off the power supply of the central
rack.
• The partner CPU switches to single
mode.
2 Turn off the power supply of the expansion
unit in which you want to replace the
–
Remove the interface module.
4 Insert the new interface module and turn
the power supply of the expansion unit
–
5 Switch the power supply of the central unit
back on and start the CPU.
• The CPU performs an automatic LINK-
UP and UPDATE.
•
The CPU changes to RUN and operates
as the reserve CPU.
Failure and replacement of components of the distributed I/Os
Which components can be replaced?
The following components of the distributed I/Os can be replaced during operation:
● PROFIBUS DP master
● PROFIBUS DP interface module (IM 153-2 or IM 157)
